There’s a line in Miss Me (the second track on my album No Will Power)….“thought this might be the last time so I left my t-shirt and hope behind.” It used to be “…so I left my t-shirt and hair tie behind”, but then people thought I was saying that I left my t-shirt and “hands tied behind”. I wasn’t quite ready for that kind of song, so I changed “hair tie” to “hope”.

The true story is that I actually left my wallet and jewelry. You do this when the relationship/date is not going so well, but you want to see the person again. If you leave something at their house or in their car, you have to see them again.  And to take it one step further, I figured if I left my wallet and jewelry, I would have to see him again right away. As an aside, I leave my stuff everywhere all the time. For example, I have, I am sorry to say, on more than one occasion, leaned my guitar up against my car after a gig, gotten in my car and driven away.  These times it is not on purpose. Well, it turns out this boyfriend of mine was quite efficient, as the next day, before I had a chance to “realize” I had lost these important items, he came over and…..dropped them off in my mailbox.
